Mahira Hafeez Khan is a popular Pakistani actress and a former VJ. Khan was born in Karachi, Sindh on December 21st, 1984 and is aged 36. The starlet also has a nickname Mazdoor Khan. She was born to Urdu-speaking Pashtuns, and her father Hafeez Khan belongs to Delhi and he migrated to Pakistan after the partition of India. She has only one sibling, a younger brother named Hassaan Khan who is a journalist by profession. The actor is known to do different jobs before acting like Cashier, cleaning toilets and shutting the stores at night.
Mahira went to Foundation Public School in Karachi from where she completed her O levels. For her higher education at the age of 17, she moved to California for her higher studies and attended Santa Monica College there. She then enrolled in the University of South California for her bachelor’s degree but she did not complete her undergraduate degree and returned to Pakistan in 2008. Khan once revealed that her favorite subject at school was Chemistry.
The actor met Ali Askari in 2006 in Los Angeles, California during her stay there. The two got married in 2007 in a customary Islamic wedding though Khan’s father being reportedly against the marriage. They have a son together named Azlan who was born in 2009. The couple got separated in 2015 after Mahira filed a divorce against Ali in 2014. However, there son Azlan stays with Mahira and the actor keeps on sharing cute things about her son on social media.

In 2015, she posted a picture with a fake Shiv Sainak for which she had to apologize later. In 2017, a picture of her with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor got viral in which she could be seen smoking in an inappropriate dress. The picture received much backlash from the people.
Khan started her career as a VJ in 2006, hosting a show “Most Wanted” on MTV, Pakistan which was broadcasted three days a week. In 2008, she hosted a reality show, Weekends with Mahira on AAG’s TV where she played music, talked to celebrity guests and took calls from the viewers. In 2011, she made her film debut in film Bol directed by Shoaib Mansoor in which she played a supporting role, depicting the story of a middle class girl belonging to conservative family in old Lahore who shares mutual passion for music with her love interest, Mustafa which was played by Atif Aslam. The film was a commercial and critical success and became one of the highest grossing Pakistani film of all time. She made her drama debut the same year in Neeyat which was directed by Mehreen Jabbar. The drama was shot in New York in which she played the role of Ayla.
Her next appearance was in Sarmad Khoosat-directed drama Humsafar in which she played the role of Khirad Ashar. The serial was a mega hit and brought her much appreciation. The serial was also aired on an Indian channel Zindagi and and was triumphant in India too. She rose to new heights of success after this serial. It earned her a LUX Style Award for Satellite Best TV actress and a HUM Award for best onscreen couple.
In 2013, she starred in Shehr-e-zaat,a Sarmat Khoosat direction which also became a major hit. In 2014, she appeared in Ehtashamuddin-Mohammad directed drama Sadqay Tumharay written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar in which she played Shano. The starlet bagged several awards for both the dramas.
In 2015, she played the lead role in film Bin Roye opposite Humayun Saeed which was directed by Shahzad Kashmiri. The film was also adapted as a TV series in 2016 and she received many awards for it as well.
In 2016, she played a supporting role in the biographical film Manto directed by Sarmad Khoosat. The same year the actor appeared in Asim Raza’s Ho Mann Jahan. In 2017, Khan made her film debut in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in film Raees which made Khan first actress to join Bollywood’s 100 crore club earning over US39million$. She started her singing career in 2017, when she starred in Shoaib Mansoor’s Verna, the film did not receive a very good response however, her performance was praised and she received an award for it too. The same year, in 2018 the actor starred in romantic comedy 7 Din Mohabbat In. In 2019, she played the leading role in Superstar which is her highest grossing film domestically.
