Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kuma- one of the biggest stars in the golden age of Indian Cinema passed away at the age of 98 at Hinduja Hospital on Wednesday.
The news came when a family friend of Dilip Kumar, Faisal Farooqi confirmed his death on the official twitter handle of Dilip Kumar.
“With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip saab a few minutes ago.
We are from God and To Him we return”, wrote Faisal.
He was suffering from prostate cancer. Kumar was admitted to Hospital in Intensive Care Unit on June 30th on the account of some medical issues. Earlier, he experienced breathlessness due to which he was admitted to the same hospital on June 6.
Many Bollywood celebrities were seen visiting Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar’s house to pay last respect to the veteran actor. Shah Rukh Khan, Farida Jalal, Amitabh Bachan, Ranbir Kapoor, Dharmendra from Bollywood were seen and also Maharashtra ministers were spotted visiting the actor’s house.
Kumar has left behind wife Saira Bannu, who was also a popular Bollywood actor of her times. She was 20 years younger than Kumar. The couple had no children. A very touchy picture of the King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan consoling Saira Bannu on the demise of Dilip saab surfaced the internet.
