Zardari believes that Nawaz is treated better

Outside Islamabad High court (IHC), where the former president appeared for a bail hearing against his wishes remarked that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif is getting better treatment than him. He said so when he was asked to give an opinion on whether the laws were same or different for him and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.

“Mian Sahib’s domicile is better than mine”, he replied in response to this.

Responding to reporters, the ex-president expresses belief that he is being treated worse due to his ethnic heritage, as he had to show up in person before the court even though his counsel had pleaded that he not be required to do so on account of his ill health.

He was also asked that what advice he would give to Nawaz Sharif on returning to Pakistan, to which he replied that would not give anyone any advice but if someone wants to, they can.

Earlier, his bail plea was accepted by the Islamabad High Court in the New York apartment case, granting him security from arrest till July 28.

It is to be kept in mind, that Zardari was summoned by the court in the New York apartment case. He sought the pre-arrest bail from Islamabad high court after the National Accountability Bureau opened an investigation against him for owning an apartment in New York, USA.

NAB had earlier said, that the former President has not disclosed that he owns an apartment in New York, Manhattan area.

It was also confirmed by the bureau that no evidence could be found that any money is legally sent from Pakistan for the purchase of the flats.

Fearing arrest in the case, the PPP’s leader filed a petition for the pre-arrest bail in the case.

“There is a history of NAB targeting me”, said the former president while filing the petition for the pre-arrest bail.
