The best foldable phones are playing a waiting game right now. With some of the Samsung’s releases last year, it dominates the market with its foldable phones, and we look forward to Samsung’s release this year too. It is rumored that Google and Apple are also making developments to to release a foldable like that of Samsung’s models.
With Samsung leading in the race of foldable phone technology along with Xiaomi and Google as the new entrants, Vivo is the latest company to jump into the bandwagon and is said to release a foldable phone this year.
The news came after the popular informant Ice Universe in a recent tweet brought up that there will be no Vivo Nex 5 this year, but alternatively a foldable phone would come out.
In addition to this, Ross Young, CEO of Display supply chain consultants replied to the statement of Ice Universe on twitter.
He claimed that Nex Fold will be the largest in-folding device in terms of display which implies that it will be larger than Mi, Huawei and Samsung large displays.
Reportedly, the foldable Vivo device will be launching by the end of December 2021 and will be available in the market in January of the following year.
Some other source says that Nex Fold will not appear until January 2022. He adds that it’s going to be the largest foldable phone of its type yet in terms of its panel size.
It is also expected that the launch might be staggered in based on region.
At this point, we do not have much information regarding the Vivo Nex fold but hopefully, more will emerge in the coming months. However, it is expected that the phone will come with premium specs and a relatively high price tag to match.
