The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the kingdom of Saudia Arabia has permitted all residents aged between 12-18 to perform Umrah if they have had two doses of their vaccine. This announcement was made on August 10, on the inauguration of the Umrah season 2021.
This permit was given to almost 13,000 people of the age group. They have been allowed to perform the pilgrimage of Umrah as well as visit the Mosque of the Prophet (PBUH). DR. Abdul-Fatah bin Suleiman Mashat, the deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, explained to the press conference that the permits to Umrah were given through the applications of Eatmarna and Tawakkalna. Moreover, preventive measures and security services are ensured for the safety of the pilgrims.
Mashat also explained that the ministry working with other authorities before this year’s Umrah season has performed to establish mechanisms and to build a safe environment for the pilgrims to perform Umrah.
He also highlighted the need to take care of all the precautionary measures for health and to take care of the spread of the coronavirus. There would be limited number of pilgrims allowed to perform Umrah. They should follow the instructions given to the pilgrims to perform Umrah and Hajj. Immunised teens can perform Umrah and Hajj.
The pilgrims performing Umrah must be obtained through the applications of Eatmarna and Tawakkalna, the deputy minister said. The Umrah will be performed at the Grand Mosque. The teens who got these vaccines Pfizer/BioNTech, Oxford AstraZeneca, and Johnson would be allowed to perform Umrah. Deputy Hajj minister Abdulfattah bin Suleiman Mashat said that all foreign visitors have to agree to undergo quarantine if needed. This news has spread joy among the Muslim Ummah who were heart broken when Umrah was closed in the previous year.
