Twitter has officially announced a new feature for some of its users. This feature is known as the Shop Module. The shop module feature enables businesses, brands, and various merchandisers to propose their products to Twitter users directly on their profiles.
The Shop Module feature is present at the top of the profile where various businesses advertise their goods. When viewing the products, this mode allows the user to view them directly without leaving the Twitter app.
At the moment, this feature is available for English iOS device users. Twitter explains why this feature was added which is due to the realization that the users oftentimes talk about various commodities on the platform. Hence, this feature allows them to directly place orders.
Currently, the availability of pilot is limited to a handful of brands mainly GameStop, Arden Cove, and some others. The time frame is not revealed by Twitter as to when more brands will be included.
The establishment of the Merchant Advisory Board of Twitter will address the requirements of different merchants on the platform. Working directly with the businesses will help Twitter to satisfactorily solve the business requirements of dealers.
The Shop Module is one of those features that Twitter is presenting to generate revenue instead of simply displaying ads. The company also declared a paid subscription service and also schemes to charge users to access locked or restricted content.
