Gharida Farooqi’s Tweet On Eid-Ul Azha

Gharida Farooqi is Pakistan’s celebrated television host and anchorperson. Gharida Farooqi has worked with PTV home, ATV (Pakistan), Geo news, dunya news and samaa news and is currently working as host at Express news.

As the whole Muslim community is celebrating the “Festival of Sacrifice” with great zeal and zest, like many other celebrities G for Gharida also made a tweet but unlike other’s it drew much attention but for all the wrong reasons.

The primetime host is under hot waters for her recent tweet about animal’s sacrifice on Eid ul Azha,

“Spare an animal’s life if you can. Embrace the philosophy behind the incident and the divine message, in your life Folded hands. This day is not to mark meat eating”, wrote Farooqi in her tweet.

As soon as she tweeted this, the tweet went viral all over the social media. Within minutes #Shame_on-Gharida_Farooqi became trending on twitter.

While many twitteratis asked her to stop eating fast food as all the fast-food chains slaughter flocks of animals to meet their meat requirements, others shared pictures of her where she could be seen enjoying biryani and nihari. Neitizens also castigated her for using leather purses and wallets as all of this also requires the killing of animals.

Gharida Farooqi has also been involved in another controversy when in 2017, a 15-year-old maid was recovered from her house who was kept in illegal detention at her house and was badly tortured.
