Twitter Pauses Its Verification Program

According to the latest report, Twitter is officially hesitant about the expansion of its verification program as countless fake accounts are somehow directed to get a blue check on their profiles. Twitter is now changing its process of getting check marks on the accounts. It will review all its accounts that got verified. From now on, no new account is allowed to apply for its check marks and verification. The company has mentioned that it will only verify the accounts and give them blue checkmarks so only the actual people may get the checkmarks and not the fake accounts. 

Verification of Twitter accounts is a crave way of giving the Twitter users officially certified blue check marks which means that the account you are holding is your official account. The blue checkmark is mostly seen on the accounts of athletes, cricketers, celebrities, and a few bloggers. If any of you have applied for your account verification then there might be a possibility that your request would be still under review. 

 Furthermore, Twitter has mentioned that there won’t be any other changes to the verification process. The only changes Twitter is making are to ensure that only the actual Twitter user accounts may have applied for the verification. 

Whereas Twitter has not done this for the first time, Twitter paused its verification process back in 2017 as the company receives counterblasts for verifying one of the organizer’s controversial accounts beyond the ‘Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville. 

Twitter is a platform where all celebrities, cricketers, and athletes are found active. They got their accounts verified after getting millions of followers. Twitter is making progress in its security and privacy. Twitter would be more careful from now. It would give Twitter users a blue checkmark after verifying them. So that only actual people with their real accounts can have the verified account.
