No Sides Taken By Pakistan In The Afghanistan Conflict

Situations in Afghanistan are worsening with every passing day. The Taliban are recking havoc over the country. They are taking over more and more cities and massacring every one that comes in their way. From men to women to children, no one is safe there. The Government of the United States has sent forces to help the citizens against the civil war.

The Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, received calls from ambassadors of different states such as Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands on Thursday, at the General Head Quarters. ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations) released a statement that mutual concerns were shared among the states regarding security matters of the region.

Moreover, thoughts were exchanged on the current Afghan-Taliban situation and collaborations with the European Union. The COAS of Pakistan shared his concerns regarding the neighbouring country’s civil war, saying that peace in Afghanistan is equal to peace in Pakistan. The state wishes harmony and tranquillity upon its neighbour.

We are all well aware of how much Pakistan has suffered at the hands of Afghanistan. From regular bombings to killings, we have been on the verge of a war with terrorists. General Qamar Javed Bajwa further explained that Pakistan holds no favourite side in the Afghanistan conflict. What is important to Pakistan is its relation to the European Union. “We want to enhance cooperation with the European Union in various fields of mutual interest”, adds the army chief. Pakistan has played a very important part in developing peace in the region. This initiative of the state has been appreciated by countries all over the world. The French Ambassador repeated his statement to provide any type of help Pakistan needs. He further added to increase cooperation on all levels with our state.
