The current situation in Afghanistan has put the world in chaos. Everyone is putting out their guesses on what is happening in Afghanistan and who is to blame for it. Amidst all this chaos, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, came forward to blame the Afghan army as well as the leaders for the situation. He said to stand by his decision of withdrawal of the US Army from Afghanistan.
Joe Biden broke his silence on the removal of the US military from Afghanistan. He criticized the Afghan leaders for leaving the public behind and fleeing the country with bags of cash. Moreover, he said that the Taliban taking over Afghanistan is due to the incompetency of the Afghan army despite taking training from the United States.
Joe Biden showed no hesitation in criticizing the Afghan government. He further went on and said that the US army couldn’t fight for a nation, a nation whose pathetic leader proved to be a traitor to the state and fled away. He said that the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani “gave up and fled”, leaving the public in a state of distress.
“We have given them every opportunity to determine their future. We cannot encourage them to fight for their future. Our mission in Afghanistan has never been to build a nation”, says Biden.
Concurrently, Biden also warned the Taliban not to interfere with the withdrawal of the US army or else prepare themselves for consequences. The fear of re-emergence of Al-Qaeda-type terrorist groups has surfaced once again. The quick takeover of the Taliban was unexpected. No one thought that the Afghan troops would put their arms down so fast. Holding the Taliban back for a few months is what everyone thought would happen. Joe Biden shared his stance on the Afghan war and said that it is unfair for the US troops to fight and die in a war when the Afghans themselves are not willing to fight for their land.
