A virtual one-day E-commerce conference was set up with the USAID PREIA and the Kamyab Jawan Program by the Ministry of Commerce. This conference aimed at empowering the youth of the state into the sector of E-commerce through the implementation of the National E-Commerce policy.
The National E-Commerce policy is centered on the point of “Empowering Youth and SMEs through E-Commerce”. Its goal is to come together with the government guidelines to enhance the digital skills of the youth of the country and provide them with platforms that can benefit them.
The opening ceremony was successful as it was attended by some Ministers of the State. The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs, Mr. Usman Dar, and Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce, Ms. Aliya Hamza were among the many notable personalities.
‘The focus currently is on the empowerment of young and fresh entrepreneurs by giving them access to opportunities where they can polish their digital skills as well as to finance while protection of the consumer is ensured and the telecom infrastructure and ICT are improved hand in hand’, says Ms. Aliya Hamza.
The Kamyab Jawan Program and all the enterprises that come within this program such as the Young Entrepreneurship (YES) received a well deserved and note-worthy recognition by Mr. Usman Dar, the SA of the Prime Minister on Affairs of the Youth. Moreover, he highlighted how the said program has its main focus on the promotion of e-commerce businesses.
The conference ended with discussions on various topics among the audience and the ministers. These included the current crisis that the country is going through as well as ways to overcome them and pave the way for the success and prosperity of the country. Participation in such healthy and informative activities should be encouraged among the youth as it benefits not only them but the economy of the country as well.
