Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has directed the Inspector General for Police Jameel-ur-Rehman to “not to make any concessions” while investigating the murder of Noor Mukaddam, daughter of former Pakistani diplomat Shaukat Mukaddam.
Noor’s father Shaukat Mukaddam has served as an ambassador of Pakistan to South Korea and Kazakhastan, while the murderer Zahir Zakir Jaffar is the son of a Karachi-based business tycoon.
Special assistant to Prime Minister on Political communication, Shahbaz Gill shared the news.
Noor, 27 was murdered in the federal capital on Tuesday, in city’s F-7 area.
The gruesome incident sparked a nationwide outrage and #Justice_for_noor became the top trend on Twitter to seek justice for the young lady.
Zahir Zakir Jaffir has been arrested and booked for allegedly killing a young woman.
Gill also said that Prime Minister is “personally monitoring” this case and justice shall be served in any case.
“We all have daughters. I would like to ask the Opposition to stay united with us on this front”, he further added.
Prime Minister’s aide also requested the courts to investigate the case on merit and said that they can no say anything until the police completes their investigation.
“Please give some time to police to complete the probe, rest assured that justice will be done”, said the aide.
Not a person with mental disability
Noor’s father said that the muderer is not a man with mental disability and that if such a man is made the director of company, then his parents must also be made a part of the investigation.
He further said that the murder was witnessed by the “gate-keeper” of the house.
Murderer’s name to be added to ECL
Police Office, directed it to approach the concerned agencies to add name of the suspect to the Exit Control List (ECL).
The police chief also directed the team to obtain his criminal history, if any, from England and the United States.
