What is Tiktok?

Musical.ly was a popular and short-form (15 seconds) video streaming and sharing app with over 100 million users up from August,2018, the app provided a wide range of music and dialogue options to which they could lip synch and make entertaining and comical videos.

The app was widely popular with the content creators and many of them attained the peak of fame with their content through it, and many new creators also emerged on the platform.

In August 2018, the app was taken by a Chinese company ByteDance and all the musical.ly users were shifted to tiktok. The tiktok is a bit different from musical.ly although it is also used to make 15 second short videos but it offers a wide range of other features too.

It offers a wide selection of music and sound snippets and also allows the users to add effects and filters in the video, thus, it did not only focus on lip syncing videos.

It also provided a feature to add videos directly from your phone.

Popularity of the app:

The new app is very popular among the people and Since its launch, tiktok’s popularity has been growing among the people. In October, 2018 it was the most downloaded photo and video app on apple store globally. The app reportedly has amassed 500 million monthly active users.

Tiktok launches Tiktok Resume program:

Creators on Tiktok are redefining entertainment, from film to sports, to fashion, music, lifestyle, workplace and more. With the rise of Career and job-related Creative Content, Tiktok believes that there’s an opportunity to bring more value to people’s experience with Tiktok by enhancing the utility of the platform. It is for this reason that tiktok has launched a pilot program – TiktokResume.You can now find a job with a tiktok video! Sounds pretty cool? Well, yes absolutely it is.

Tiktok is already platform where new talent is discovered but now it has also become a platform for recruitment and job discovery. Titoki has teamed up with select companies which include Chipotle, Target, WWE, Alo Yoga, Shopify, Contra, Movers+shakers and many more. Interested candidates are encouraged to authentically and creatively showcase their skillsets and experiences and use #TiktokResumes in their caption under the video.

This program has been launched to meet the willing labor needs in US which has fueled again after the pandemic. With this program, you can land in any US-based job ranging from a WWE superstar to a senior data engineer at Shopify or a creative producer at tiktok itself.

The program is accepting video resumes for U.S. job openings from July 7 to July 31.
