The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates has advised its citizens and residents to avoid traveling to Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania due to the Marburg virus outbreaks. The ministry released a statement recommending that individuals postpone their trips to these African nations.

It urged individuals who reside in or are visiting Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania to exercise caution and adhere to the appropriate health protocols to safeguard themselves against the virus.

A second cautionary advisory was released by the UAE on Tuesday concerning the Marburg virus, urging its citizens and inhabitants to be vigilant if they have recently traveled to regions where an epidemic has been identified.

Comparable warnings have also been released by Saudi Arabia and Oman, while the World Health Organization has projected that the number of deaths due to the outbreak is twice as high as what the authorities have reported.

The virus results in high fever and frequently coincides with hemorrhaging and malfunctioning of organs.
