The app is going so well over the country and people are completely satisfied with the services. So, Careem has to maintain a good relationship with Government and the public. 

Careem has recently hired a new director Fatima Akhtar for the company for Government Relations and Public Policy in Pakistan. Fatima Akhtar owns great experience from different multinational brands which includes Nestle, Jazz, Samaa TV, Telenor Pakistan, Code for Pakistan, and has also been involved in the strategic team-leading key initiatives at the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Reform.  

Earlier, she has conducted several key initiatives including but unlimited to; Nestle BISP Rural Women Sales Program (in partnership with Benazir Income Support Program), a program that focuses on providing masses with access to subsistence opportunities. She has also gained experience by working closely with multiple media outlets in Pakistan along with, spearheading Nestle’s partnership with TREK (Travel Responsibly Eco-Tourism) with the Government of KP and the World Bank keeping its focus on Responsible tourism. 

Furthermore, Fatima has also anchored a show based on technology whose focus remains on the role of technology in the upliftment of the innovation ecosystem in Pakistan, at SAMAA TV. She has also guided some of the key public and private partnerships in the areas of nutrition and water in her tenure at Nestle. 

As the new Director of Government Relations and Public Policy at Careem Pakistan, Fatima will be directly looking after the ordinance and association with the public sector, spearheading the agenda of private rides whose details are not shared with anyone, regulated in Pakistan which has not been done in the last 5 years.   Fatima Akhtar expressed her regards and eagerness in joining the team in Careem Pakistan and is wishing to take on her role as the director of Government Relations and Public Policy. she is very impatient on contributing to the company’s vision and actively taking part in improving of the relationship between the Government of Pakistan and Careem.
