Aafia Siddique is a neuroscientist of Pakistan with her degrees from MIT and Brandeis University. She was born to a Muslim family in Pakistan. She went for higher studies in the U.S and completed her degree in Ph.D. in neuroscience. She has three kids. 

She is a Pakistani, but a citizen of the U.S. She was arrested for shooting at an FBI Officer and Army of U.S. when she was in Afghanistan and was sentenced to 86 years in prison. Pakistan has registered a formal complaint with the institutions in the United States to investigate the attack on Dr. Aafia Siddiqui in prison, the spokesman of the foreign office stated. 

“We lodged a formal complaint with the relevant U.S. authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure the safety and well-being of Dr. Siddiqui,” spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary said. 

“We learned of an assault on Dr. Aafia Siddiqui by a fellow intimate at FMC Carswell on 30 July 2021,” the spokesperson FO declared. 

He said, “Our embassy in Washington DC, as well as our Consulate General in Houston, immediately took up the matter with the concerned U.S. authorities”. 

She was instantly visited by Pakistan’s Consul General in Houston to find out her well-being. Furthermore, he added that she got a few injuries, but she was doing fine. 

The FO spokesperson declared both the embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC and the Consulate General in Houston experienced to make all possible exertion to guarantee that Dr. Siddiqui was properly considered while being imprisoned at FMC Carswell. 

Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is serving her 86 years sentence in a prison in the U.S. named Federal Medical Center, Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.  

She wants herself to be free and live with her kids as she had never seen them growing. Many people protested for her freedom. Her mother wants her daughter back with her kids.
